How a season works
A season, not another evening in the diary
Most industry padel is a single afternoon. Everyone turns up, plays, says they should do this more often, and then nothing happens until the next one. This is a season. The same night every week, a fixture list published in advance, a league table that moves after every result, and something to win at the end of it.
That repetition is the whole point. By week three you are not introducing yourself, you are picking up a conversation. Your firm enters one team and builds a squad around it, so nobody has to be free for all seven nights.
Opening night
Every firm plays its first match. The league table goes live by the end of the evening.
Matches
Two players from your firm on court for forty minutes against another firm, then the bar. Your result goes straight into the league table.
Your squad
Two play each week, but you can rotate all season and bring whoever you like along to watch. Most firms turn up with more people than they play.
Entry
£1,000 per team for the whole season. One invoice, one line in the budget.

Who plays
The whole industry, not just the model builders
Season One is put together as an ecosystem rather than a guest list. The firms building AI, the funds backing them, and the companies working alongside them every day. Get those three groups onto the same court for seven weeks and you end up with a room where things actually happen.
You do not need padel experience. Plenty of players will be picking up a racquet for the first time in October, and fixtures are set so that a team finding its feet is not thrown straight at the most experienced side in the league.
Two players go on court for your firm each week. Everyone else is welcome to come, swap in across the season, or just turn up for the food, the drinks and the company.

Every match night is at House of Racquet, a padel and social club a few minutes from King’s Cross station. Courts, a bar and a terrace in one place, so nobody has to leave to carry on the conversation.

Everything people ask us first
Do we need to be good at padel?
No. Any level can play, and plenty of players will be picking up a racquet for the first time. Fixtures are set so that a team finding its feet is not thrown straight at the strongest side in the league.

How does the season work?
Twenty four firms in one league table. Seven Tuesday nights from 20 October to 1 December, a different opponent each week, forty minute matches, and finals night on 1 December.
What time do things start?
Evenings from 7pm at House of Racquet in King’s Cross, with the bar after the matches. We send each team its court time before every match night.
How many people can we bring?
As many as you like. Two players go on court for your firm each week, your squad can rotate across the season with no limit on numbers, and everyone else is welcome to come and watch.
What if we cannot put two players out one week?
Tell us as early as you can and we will try to find a stand in. If nobody is available, the match is forfeited.
Do we need our own kit?
No. Racquets and balls are provided. Just bring sports clothes and trainers suitable for a court.
What does it cost?
£1,000 per firm for the season. That covers your place in the league and every match night, with racquets and balls on court. We invoice once your place is confirmed.
